In 2022, we improved our impact measurement method while using the same model with the same programs.

Our Impact

In 2022, Buibu Baca Buku kept growing the community, to 33,000+ community members on Instragam and 1,300+ Buibu Baca Buku Best Friends & Family. We also recruited 10 volunteers, expanded the team to 17 volunteers.

Overall Perception Score

On 4 – 13 December 2022, we launched an annual survey in order to measure community member’s perception on our programs. Based on 188 members, here are our scores (scale 1-10).

Based on this survey, our score for (scale 1-10):

  • P1. Increased members’ AWARENESS to read -> 9,3
  • P2. Increased members’ INTEREST IN READING and THE NUMBER OF BOOKS that members read -> 8,9
  • P2 & P3. Increased the VARIETY OF BOOKS that members read -> 8,7
  • P3. Brought new perspectives and made members THINK more CRITICALLY -> 8,8
  • P4. Drove members to feel more EQUAL to the opposite sex in general (working environment, community, society, etc.) -> 8,2
  • Other P -> ENCOURAGED me to do activities that make me a ROLE MODEL LEARNER at home* (answered by 148 people) -> 8,6

Measurement of Each Program

Digital Contents

 In 2022, we shared 370+ contents on Instagram Feed @bbbbookclub. 193 posts (52%) are book reviews & recommendations from various genres by either Buibu Baca Buku team or by the community members, encouraging more diverse books to read.

On average each post on IG feed reached 3000+ accounts. According to insight from Meta, we reached 207,000+ accounts from 1 January 2022 – 31 December 2022.

Event & Discussion

In 2022, we held 28 discussions attended by total 900+ participants:

  • Zoom – 20x
  • IG live – 5x
  • Offline meeting – 3x

We measured each of event and discussion through direct surveys. Here are the scores based on sum 286 participants that filled our survey activities (confidence level 95%, margin of error 5%)

  • P1. Increased members’ AWARENESS to read -> 9.1
  • P2. Increased members’ INTEREST IN READING and THE NUMBER OF BOOKS that members read -> 9.1
  • P2 & P3. Increased the VARIETY OF BOOKS that members read -> 9.1
  • P3. Brought new perspectives and made members THINK more CRITICALLY -> 9.3
  • P4. Drove members to feel more EQUAL to the opposite sex in general (working environment, community, society, etc.) -> 9.4

Competition & Challenge

In 2022 we organized 2 competitions:

  • Korea Literature Review Competition 2022 – 176 participants -> From Korea Literature Review Competition 2022, we measured P2 (9.5) & P3 (9.5) through the form submission.
  • BBB Read Aloud Challenge 2022 – 220 participants

Reading Challenge

Reading Challenge 2021 was joined by:

  • Participants sharing & tagging us on social media: 500+
  • Participants filling out the form: 255 members

According to 196 responses on Reading Challenge Wrap Up 2022, community members stated that ‘Reading Challenge’ program motivated them to:

  • P1. Increased members’ AWARENESS to read (91%) – average score 8,98
  • P2. Increased members’ INTEREST IN READING and THE NUMBER OF BOOKS that members read (90%) – average score 8,85
  • P2 & P3. Increased the VARIETY OF BOOKS that members read (85%) – average score 8,24

In 2022, we collaborated with 50+ partners, including:
